At first glance, the case of the Brooklyn 36 hides the many small details that it houses. Looking closer, you will see the different layers of contrasting finish and their fine transitions. From satin-brushed surfaces on the top of the bezel, lugs, and case sides to the highly polished chamfers on the case and bezel.
This alteration of finishes is repeated on the bracelet where the smaller central links are polished. We also wanted to create a sense of depth by deliberately setting the end links slightly lower than the lugs.
Lastly, each flank of the case has a cut-out, exposing the entirety of the bezel insert. We did this to again create depth and add an interesting dynamic. At first glance, the case of the Brooklyn 36 hides the many small details that it houses. The dial is definitely one of the highlights of the Brooklyn 36. We spent lots of time finding the right balance between design and legibility to house the full triple calendar complication.
The dial is inspired by the 60’s Pie-Pan dials which have a recessed chapter ring giving the dial a lot of depth. The subdials are also lowered which results in a beautiful contrasting surface. To put more emphasis on these contrasts we have chosen to give the dial a sunburst finish combined with a sandblasted chapter ring and subdials.
